Genesis 27:5-10

Genesis 27:5–10 (ESV): 6 Rebekah said to her son Jacob, "I heard your father speak to your brother Esau, 7 'Bring me game and prepare for me delicious food, that I may eat it and bless you before the Lord before I die.' 8 Now therefore, my son, obey my voice as I command you. 9 Go to the flock and bring me two good young goats, so that I may prepare from them delicious food for your father, such as he loves. 10 And you shall bring it to your father to eat, so that he may bless you before he dies."

Waiting on God is never easy but moving without God is far more difficult. When we try and act on Gods behalf to fulfill His Word to us we end up sinning and making a mess of His perfect plan. Perhaps we should just let Him do it in His timing!

God had previously said to Rebekah in Genesis 25:23 that the older shall serve the younger. She knew Jacob was to get the blessing from Issac. When she heard Issac tell Esau to go hunt and prepare a savory meal of wild game for him that he might bless him she flipped her lid and immediately went into preservation mode and rather than trusting God she took matters into her own hands. Notice she said to Jacob "listen to my voice and obey me". The voice she was listening to was the voice of the flesh and she asked Jacob to listen to that same voice. She was even willing to take the curse from God if there was one for her and his actions. Jacob went along and impersonated Esau and receive his blessing. Jacob would now be on the run from Esau now because of it.

Things are never what they seem. When things seem hopeless they are not. When Gods plan doesn't seem like it is going to materialize walk by faith not by sight. No matter how it all goes down we know that whatever God says will come to pass. Don't try and force it. Let it happen in His timing. It will work out for the best!

Father we thank You for Your faithfulness to us. We know when you say something it will come to pass. Give us the faith to trust You and the obedience to wait expectantly. Let us not grow weary of waiting. Let us trust in the process. You know what Your doing. We give you full control today, fill us with peace and patience we pray in Jesus name, amen!
