Ezekiel 36:22-24

Ezekiel 36:22–24 (ESV): "23 And I will vindicate the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, and which you have profaned among them. And the nations will know that I am the Lord, declares the Lord God, when through you I vindicate my holiness before their eyes. 24 I will take you from the nations and gather you from all the countries and bring you into your own land."

Did you know that as a Christian you have a direct influence on how people in the world view God? As His ambassadors, what we do affects His name...don't ever forget that.

The Lord continues in chapter 36 to speak through Ezekiel to the exiles of Israel regarding His plan for redemption. Part of the process would include the restoration of the Lord's name in the world. The nation of Israel had propane His name by their actions. Thus, the Lord must now vindicate the holiness of His name. That word vindicate means to purify and make clean. God would once again restore His Holy name through the nation of Israel and their redemption.

Like the nation of Israel, we too can defame the name of the Lord by our unfaithfulness. The world is watching and making assessments about God by how we walk. The stakes are high Christian, it's not about your name but His name alone. May we live holy lives, honorable to the name of the Lord. Make it your aim to bring fame to the name of our great God daily by how you live, amen?

Father, thank You for being so forgiving towards us. Even when we defame Your name You are faithful to restore it before man by redeeming and restoring us. May we live in such a way that Your name is glorified before all men. Fill us with Your Spirit and help us to walk in a way that would bring fame to Your name we pray in Jesus' name, amen!
