Ezekiel 21:14-15

Ezekiel 21:14–15 (ESV): "14 "As for you, son of man, prophesy. Clap your hands and let the sword come down twice, yes, three times, the sword for those to be slain. It is the sword for the great slaughter, which surrounds them, 15 that their hearts may melt, and many stumble. At all their gates I have given the glittering sword. Ah, it is made like lightning; it is taken up for slaughter."

The prophetic Word of God is absolute and ridiculously accurate. It might be unbelievable to man but what God says will surely come to pass exactly as dictated.

In chapter 21 God gives a stunningly accurate prophecy regarding Jerusalem. The city would be struck not once, not twice, but three times by the sword of the Lord (vs 3). The Babylonians are His instrument of judgment against Jerusalem but make no mistake this is the Lord's sword. He tells Ezekiel to illustrate His broken heart by sighing and groaning (vs 1-6) and His threefold judgment by striking the sword. It's not surprising that history records that Babylon laid siege to Jerusalem not once (597 BC), not twice (588 BC), but three times (586 BC) as declared by the Lord.

Read the Bible literally Christian! What God says, will come to pass. Over and over through hundreds of prophecies fulfilled we see God declare, "trust my Word!" You are not the exception to the rule regarding the fulfillment of His Word. His Word is true for everyone and it will come to pass good or bad exactly as He has declared. So believe it and receive it, amen?

Father, thank You for the masterpiece known as the Bible. It is Your infallible Word to man. Everything You declare is true and will happen down to the detail. Help us not to doubt because we can't comprehend it. Give us faith to believe and receive every word You have spoken we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
