Exodus 6:9

Exodus 6:9 (ESV): l9 Moses spoke thus to the people of Israel, but they did not listen to Moses, because of their broken spirit and harsh slavery."

It's easy to listen to God when things are going good but when times get tough and God is promising deliverance the waiting can be disheartening. Our break through is often just right around the corner but we must endure to the end and never cease listening to God and His promises. It's always darkest just before dawn.

Moses and Aaron were sent to Egypt to deliver the people of Israel because God was in covenant relationship with them. God's promise to Abraham and his offspring to bless them and give them a land where they could worship Him was still in place. When Moses and Aaron spoke to Pharaoh about releasing the Israelites he refused saying who is the Lord that I should listen to Him. Pharaoh then taxed the people harder with brick making because he thought they had too much time to think. The children of Israel became dishearten and stop listening to Moses and Aaron. They had given up on God's deliverance plan.

God always fulfill His promises, never in our timing but always in His. He is always at work moving things around in our lives, exposing things, allowing hardships or difficulties to position us for blessing. Don't give up! He is working right now to position you for something more. Don't lose heart for dawn is coming! Endure the trial because the blessing is right around the corner. He will do all that He promised.

Father we thank You for being our God. Where would we go and in whom would we hope if not in You? Our hearts may be heavy with burden and grief but let us never forget that You are at work to bring out the very best for us. We surrender to You and ask for Holy Spirit power to endure until You deliver. We believe but help our unbelief we pray in Jesus name, amen.
