Exodus 4:10–12 (ESV): 10 But Moses said to the Lord, "Oh, my Lord, I am not eloquent, either in the past or since you have spoken to your servant, but I am slow of speech and of tongue." 11 Then the Lord said to him, "Who has made man's mouth? Who makes him mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, the Lord? 12 Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall speak."
It's amazing how many excuses we can come up with when God asks us to become a vessel for His glory. "Who me Lord, oh I can't do that". He created You, I'm pretty sure He knows what your capable of with His help. Don't make excuses, just do it!
Moses is having a miraculous encounter with God in the form of a burning bush. God's fire was resting upon this bush but it was not consumed. If God could do that with a bush, what could He do with Moses? He told Moses that He had heard the cries of the children of Israel and that He was going to rescue them from their oppression. He asked Moses to be His hands and feet, to go and tell Pharaoh to release them. He told him to tell the children of Israel "I AM" sent him. He immediately began to make excuses of why he couldn't do it. "The children of Israel won't believe me. I can't speak well, I'm not the right guy." So God said, "I will send your brother Aaron with you to speak. You just tell him what to say."
It's amazing that God will work with such fickleness. How terrible it is that we don't trust God enough to know that if He is asking us to do something He will equip us for the task. God won't ever let you walk powerless in His calling. He will give you what you need, when you need it to accomplish His will. So no excuses. When He asks you to speak, speak even if you don't have words. By faith open your mouth and let the words begin to flow. He is enough! Just trust Him and do it!
Father we thank You for the privilege it is to be used by You. Forgive us for our fear at times. Embolden us to do Your will and let us not shrink back from accomplishing all You desire to accomplish. Fill us with power and hearts to obey we pray in Jesus name, amen!
