Esther 7:10

Esther 7:10 (ESV): "10  So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then the wrath of the king abated."

The plans of the enemy against God's people will always backfire because God uses everything for the good of those who love Him who are called according to His purposes (Ro 8:28). No weapon formed against us shall prosper (Isa 54:17)!

After Mordecai and the Jews in Susa had fasted with Esther for three days she appeared in the court of the King while he was sitting on his throne. When he saw her he had favor for her and summoned her. He knew she had a request so he asked her what it was and she then invited the king and Haman to a feast she had made.

After dinner, the king again asked Queen Esther what he may do to bless her and she requested that he and Haman attend another feast with her the next day. The king agreed. In the meantime, Haman built gallows seventy-five feet high (50 cubits) that he might hang Mordecai before all the people.

At the same time, the King couldn't sleep so he asked that the chronicles of the kings to be brought and read to him and then he was reminded about how Mordecai saved his life and hadn't been rewarded for it so he asked Haman who happened to just show up about this time how he might reward someone who saved his life never revealing who it was that he was referring to. Haman responded that person should be paraded around in robes and given honor before the people. Then the king commanded that he do all that he suggested to Mordecai. Here Haman came to ask that Mordecai be hanged and he left having to honor him before the people of Susa. Talk about a colossal backfire!

Later that evening at dinner, Esther revealed the wicked plan of Haman to kill Mordecai and the Jews and it infuriated the king so he commanded that Haman be hanged on the very gallows he built for Mordecai.

Just as God was at work behind the scenes protecting Mordecai and His people from the satanic plan of Haman so too is He working behind the scenes to protect and prosper you in spite of the enemy. It might not always look as we would desire it but the reality is that what the enemy intends for evil God uses for good! Trust the Lord Christian. God has your best interest in mind and that might mean bringing you home to be with Him or allowing you to continue on this earth. Whatever the case He determines the outcome. Never forget He is in control and nothing happens in our lives without His allowance. So keep your eyes on Him and know He is at work for your good, amen?

Father, how sovereign You are. The enemy could never win against You because You are totally in control. Thank You that our lives are in Your hands always and no matter what the enemy intended for us Your plan will always succeed. Built a greater sense of trust in our hearts as we walk out our trials and help us to rest as we watch You confound the enemy over and over again. We love You Lord, thank You for who You are and how You love us in Jesus' name, amen!
