Esther 10:3 (ESV): "3 For Mordecai the Jew was second in rank to King Ahasuerus, and he was great among the Jews and popular with the multitude of his brothers, for he sought the welfare of his people and spoke peace to all his people."
The calling of God is irrevocable. It is not subject to any circumstances. God will never remove His purpose from our lives! Thus, we must fulfill our calling no matter what is going on around us.
As we come to a close in the book of Esther we find two Jews exalted in a place that was not their home because God created them for such a time as this. Imagine if Mordecai and Esther would have gotten comfortable in their lives and never stepped up in this time of adversity, what would have happened? They would have totally missed out on a huge blessing God had ordained for them to receive from the foundation of the world and they would have ultimately been responsible for the deaths of those Jews who were killed because they didn't do their job.
As we live our lives may we never get so comfortable here on this earth that we forget the calling God has upon our lives. He created us and strategically planted us in this culture and in this time to be His ambassadors. Don't get sucked into the commotion of the world. Stay on task and be about your Father's business. God created you for such a time as this. If you have grown weary or discouraged take a moment and collect yourself before the Lord and then get back at it! Time is short. We have a Gospel to preach and lost people to reach. Get after it Church for the harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few. Let's go!!!!
Father, we thank You that You have gifted and called us for Your purposes. Every Christian has a specific purpose. May we know it and live it out for Your glory we pray in Jesus name, amen!
