Ephesians 4:20-24

Ephesians 4:20–24 (ESV): "20 But that is not the way you learned Christ!— 21 assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, 22 to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, 23 and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, 24 and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness."

When dead people become alive they shouldn't go back to living as dead people again. That is the point of being born again, we we're given a new life to walk in (Ro 6:4), so walk in it!

Gentiles were notorious sinners and thus Paul reminds the believers in Ephesus not to act like them. They were surrounded by paganism, how easy it would be to get lost in the culture they were saved out it. They must reckon the old man dead and walk in the new man that was created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

The old manner of life is contrary to who God has made us to be. It is full of corruptions and deceit. Don't fall back Christian. Walk in righteousness and holiness by the power of the Spirit of God. Let us be renewed daily in our minds and allow the new man who is filled with the Spirit to be directed in our every step. You came to Christ a dead person who needed to be made alive. He gave you life by grace through faith so live in it!

Father we thank You for allowing us to be born again to a living hope. Although we are still attached to this body of death let us not allow it any control in our lives. Protect us from allowing the old man any power in our lives. Fill us with Your Spirit, renew our minds to live in the righteousness and holiness You've given us through You Son, in Jesus name we pray, amen!
