Ephesians 4:1–3 (ESV): "I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, 2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, 3 eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace."
The command to walk worthy in our call is not one that should be taken lightly. The calling is not speaking of a special place in ministry but the calling to salvation and the Lordship of Jesus. This is what we are to walk worthy in!
The call to follow Jesus is the greatest call that a person could receive. Sadly, God must invite us over and over before we take Him up on the offer to save our souls. When we do though there is stewardship that comes with answering the call. We must walk in a worthy manner. That is to walk in humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, EAGER to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. We are to make every effort to do this!
How worthy are you walking in the calling you've been called Christian? Are you actively seeking to follow the path that Christ walked? We will never do this in our strength for they are the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Walk in the Spirit and you will walk worthy. Our part is making the conscious choice to walk in the Spirit. So make that choice now and you will walk in a worthy manner, amen?
Father, thank You for calling and drawing us to Yourself. May we walk in the Spirit always so that we can walk in a worthy manner. Help us to represent You well we pray in Jesus' name, amen and amen!
