Ephesians 1:7-10

Ephesians 1:7–10 (ESV): "7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, 8 which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight 9 making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ 10 as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth."

The purchasing price is always a consideration when attempting to redeem something. I'm thankful that although the price was great, Jesus was willing to pay it to redeem sinners destine for an eternity apart from God.

The riches of Christ are so vast that there isn't anything He couldn't afford to purchase. However, somethings can't be bought with the worlds currency. In order for the Jesus to buy the world back from sin He had to give up His own life and shed His own blood. It was a price He was willing to pay in order to unite lost and sinful people to a holy and just God. In so doing, He gave all who would believe in Him an inheritance far beyond our worth. It is a result of grace which He lavished upon us. We truly have been given that which we don't deserve.

Much like the churches in Ephesus, we too need to be reminded of the price Jesus paid to redeem us and what that redemption means for us. Yes, you get to enjoy all of eternity with the God who created you but beyond that you get to be part of the process of informing other lost sinners what Jesus has done for them! If you haven't yet done so, get in the game Christian. Our world has been bought back through the blood of Jesus. Great grace has been given to each of us that all our sins, as vast as they might be, can be forgiven through Him! Let that sink in for a moment and then go tell someone about it! Amen?

Father, what an amazing thing You have done for us in sending Your own Son to purchase us back from the clutches of sin and death. Forgive us for not being as excited today as we once were about the Good News. Rekindle the flame in our hearts for the lost and help us to share hope with them today. We can't thank You enough Lord for what you've done. Our lives are Yours, do with them as You will we pray in Jesus name, amen.
