Ecclesiastes 11:8 (ESV): "8 So if a person lives many years, let him rejoice in them all; but let him remember that the days of darkness will be many. All that comes is vanity."
What is this life in comparison to eternity? For those in Christ, this is as dark as it gets.Paradise is coming for those who hope in Jesus Christ.
Solomon tells us to enjoy all that we encounter in this life, the good, the bad, and the ugly.He reminds us that this world is full of pain. It's true. Our days will be dark on this side of eternity. However, this is as dark as it gets for those who love Jesus. The days ahead for Christians is not even to be compared to our best days in this life. They will be considered dark in comparison.Yet, for those outside of Christ, this is the best it gets for them. The darkness that awaits them is not remotely comparable to the darkest day they could experience in this life. They will experience utter darkness where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
If you don't know Jesus today, right now would be a very good time for you to get to know Him.You do not want to pass on from this life outside of Christ. You want to be in Him so you can experience the bliss of eternity. All you have to do is repent of your sins and trust in Jesus. If you have never done that may today be the day.Pray to God and ask Him to forgive you, tell Him you are trusting in the finished work of Jesus today, in His perfect life, death, and resurrection.Say, I crown Jesus Lord of my life.A prayer of faith is all it takes!
For those of you who already know the Lord.Keep your eyes on Him in these dark days. This is the worst it gets for you.Remember what Paul said in Romans 8:18 (ESV): "18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us." Amen?
Father, thank You for life and that more abundantly. How good and glorious are the days You have in store for those who have trusted in Jesus.May we live each day to the fullest and enjoy every aspect of what You are doing in our lives.Let us rejoice and remain hopeful for the best is yet to come.Breathe freshness into us today and let us never forget that one day we will be with You forever we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
