Daniel 4:37

Daniel 4:37 (ESV): "37 Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, for all his works are right and his ways are just; and those who walk in pride he is able to humble."

The beauty of hardships in life is that they make us lookup. We can't truly appreciate God as Almighty King until we have been put in some places that get us beyond our finite selves. It requires a specific mindset, one God is happy to help develop in us.

After seven years of insanity due to his pride, Nebuchadnezzar came to his senses and immediately began to praise the Lord. He exalted God in His proper place and honored Him as he should have all along. The purpose of the humbling of God was so that Nebuchadnezzar would "know that the Most High rules the kingdom of men and gives it to whom he will (vs 25)." In others words, that God is Almighty King above all.

What does it take for you to acknowledge God as Almighty King and Sovereign Lord? It's impossible to do this apart from total humility. It requires us to acknowledge we have need. For many, that is a huge issue and thus they miss it. God is kind enough to put us in places in life that show us how much we truly do need Him. Don't wait to praise Him like your life depends on it, acknowledge that now and declare Him absolute Lord over your life. Give Him all of you and He won't have to take you to the deep waters to reveal that, amen?

Father, thank You for loving us enough to pursue us continually. We would be exhausted quickly and yet You remain faithful for no one can wear You. Your love is too great for that. May we fully grasp the magnitude of who You are daily and live our lives accordingly. You are King and Lord so have Your way in and through us we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
