Colossians 1:24-26

Colossians 1:24–26 (ESV): "24 Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in Christ's afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church, 25 of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God that was given to me for you, to make the word of God fully known, 26 the mystery hidden for ages and generations but now revealed to his saints."

All Christians are to be ministers of the Gospel. We have been given this stewardship and thus have a responsibility to preserve and proclaim the Gospel to all people at all cost. It's a mystery to many that we have the privilege to share. Make sure you don't forsake your calling Christian.

Paul considered being a minister of the Lord Jesus Christ and a steward of the Gospel his highest call in life. This was evident in the fact that he was willing to suffer greatly for it. While in prison he writes this letter stating, "I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake," that the Gospel would be preserved and proclaimed. He was called to make the Word of God fully known, even to the Gentiles, a mystery that was hidden but revealed by way of revelation (Acts 9:15-16). Paul took this stewardship seriously!

Did you know that you too are a minister of the Lord Jesus? As followers of Jesus, we too have been called to preserve and proclaim the greatest message in all the world, the Gospel. You have been sent by the Lord Himself to share the mystery that God sent His Son into the world to reconcile sinners to Himself. Go in the might and power of the Lord and tell the whole world about Jesus. It might cost you but it's worth it. Die to self that you might live for Christ, amen?

Father, we thank You for allowing us to be Your voicebox in this world. May we recognize the stewardship we've been given and steward well we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
