Amos 7:14-15

Amos 7:14-15 "Then Amos answered and said to Amaziah, "I was no prophet, nor a prophet's son, but I was a herdsman and a dresser of sycamore figs. 15 But the Lord took me from following the flock, and the Lord said to me, 'Go, prophesy to my people Israel.'"

What kind of a person will God use? Through whom will He choose to speak?According the Apostle Paul "God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God." (1 Cor 1:27-29).

Amos is far from prophet material. He is not from a family of prophets nor is He aspiring to hold an office in the house of God.He is a worshipper that is being faithful with the calling that he has been given as a shepherd and a farmer.  Hardly the type you would think God would speak prophetic profoundness through yet here he is, a prophet called by God to bring some hard words to a rebellious nation that is about to be toppled by the judgment of God. The reason God called him is because he was already being faithful with what he had been given. Are you being faithful to the ministry God has given you?Don't expect God to use you in bigger ways until you are being faithful with the smaller things He has given you to do.

I love that God can use anyone who is loyal and faithful to Him.That means he can use you!You don't have to come from a long line of servants of God or have a certain amount of influence or financial wherewithal, you just need to be souled out to God and faithful with what He has given you to do today. If your doing that then He is already using you in ways you don't even realize, just keep being faithful and He will call you to more.

Father, we thank You that You can take a donkey from the stable and speak through him that means you can take even me and use me as a voice box for Your message. Help me to be faithful with that I have been given and let my voice be used even now to tell of Your glorious ways.I don't need a big crowd or a stage to stand on, let me be faithful right where I am for Your glory I pray in Jesus name, amen!
