Acts 17:5-7

Acts 17:5–7 (ESV): "6 And when they could not find them, they dragged Jason and some of the brothers before the city authorities, shouting, "These men who have turned the world upside down have come here also, 7 and Jason has received them, and they are all acting against the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king, Jesus."

Don't be surprised when the world accuses you of turning the world upside down for that is exactly what the Gospel is designed to do. May it not be a discouragement but an encouragement to stand firm and share King Jesus with others.

No matter where Paul went he was met with hostility. He wasn't the source of the hostility though, it was the One he spoke of. After leaving the hostility in Philippi, he and Silas came to Thessalonica where they were met by jealous Jews who stirred up a mob seeking to kill them. They hated the message of Jesus because it was transforming their culture. They found Jason who was hosting Paul and Silas and a few others who followed them and put them on trial. All because Jesus changed their lives.

What is your expectation of how you will be treated by the world when they hear the name of Jesus being proclaimed by you? Don't set yourself up to fail. Know that the majority of the world will reject you but some will hear the Gospel and be forever changed. It's for this reason that we are to endure persecution and remain steadfast in the proclamation of Jesus. Don't cower now Christian, it's the ninth hour. Stay the course! Amen?

Father, we thank You for showing us what to expect in the world. May we never cease proclaiming Your great name to all the earth. Keep us yoked and focused we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
