Acts 9:21-22

Acts 9:21–22 (ESV): "21 And all who heard him were amazed and said, "Is not this the man who made havoc in Jerusalem of those who called upon this name? And has he not come here for this purpose, to bring them bound before the chief priests?" 22 But Saul increased all the more in strength, and confounded the Jews who lived in Damascus by proving that Jesus was the Christ."

Conversion to Christ is a life-changing decision that will leave those who knew you prior amazed and bewildered. You will not be the same person after truly giving your life to Jesus. Change is evidence that true conversion has occurred.

After Saul gave the nod for Stephen to be killed he went on a rampage of arresting as many Christians as he could find. On his way to Damascus, he had a collision with Christ and became a disciple of Jesus. Those in Damascus who knew Paul as Saul were amazed at the transformation that had taken place. The one who once spoke vehemently against Jesus is now declaring Him to be the Messiah of Israel. The people were amazed.

After your conversion what change was noticeable to those who knew you before coming to Christ? Are they still amazed at your lifestyle now versus how you were BC? Paul had a radical conversion some will say but every conversion is radical. You go from being dead to alive when born again. That's pretty radical. Your turning might seem subtle on the inside but it will produce a radical change in every person. If change hasn't happened conversion has not either for it is the external evidence of an internal change that you've truly been born again (2 Cor 5:17).

Father, we thank You for the gift of salvation and the change that it brings to our lives. May we never be content with how far we've come in Christ. May we live a continual life of change we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
