Acts 6:3-4

Acts 6:3–4 (ESV): "3 Therefore, brothers, pick out from among you seven men of good repute, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we will appoint to this duty. 4 But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word."

Everyone in the body has a role to play. The hands and feet of Jesus are sufficient for the needs of the body IF everyone is in their lane. Sadly the work is generally left to just a few making these workers diluted. What if everyone who calls themselves a Christian were to put their hand to the plow. What would that look like?

When the early Church grew, so did the needs within the body. In the early days when there were only 120 of them, the disciples could probably handle all the work but when God began to add to the church daily those who were being saved the disciples could no longer keep up. They assembled a team of trusted men to serve the body as Deacons so they could focus on praying and teaching.

Where are you serving the body of Christ currently? What gifting has God given you to minister to His people? Every church needs more servants. If you are part of a body you should be serving in that body. Don't assume it's all covered if the leaders aren't begging for help. A good leader makes the need known and then waits on God to supply the workers needed. Serve the Lord by serving His body. You will feel way more connected with Him and His people if you are serving Him by serving them. Amen?

Father, we thank You for the privilege it is to serve your people. May we never consider it anything less. Prick the hearts of those on the sidelines to get in the game and bless the body they belong to. May all be done for Your glory alone we pray in Jesus' name, amen!
