Calvary Chapel Pastor's Blog
Acts 28:30–31 (ESV): "30 He lived there two whole years at his own expense, and welcomed all who came to him, 31 proclaiming the kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness and without hindrance."
Understand, that you and I have one purpose in life after becoming a Christian. It is to tell and teach as many people about Jesus as we can. Not everyone will respond to the Gospel but we shouldn't let that discourage us. Our focus should be on those that will!
After Paul made it to Rome he was put on house arrest and allowed to have guests. He invited all the Jewish leaders over to explain what happened in Jerusalem and why he appealed to Caesar. He then shared the Gospel with them and some believed. For those that didn't Paul reminded them of Isaiah 6:9-10, "And he said, "Go, and say to this people: " 'Keep on hearing, but do not understand; keep on seeing, but do not perceive. 10 Make the heart of this people dull, and their ears heavy, and blind their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed."
How are you spending your days as we await the imminent return of Christ? Are you about the Father's business? We have one purpose after coming to Christ and that is to live for Him. We are to share the Gospel with as many people as we are able. That is why we are still here. May we be the beautiful feet that preach the Good News (Ro 10:15) to everyone we can!
Father, we thank You for allowing us the privilege to represent you on this earth. Help us to do it well. May we love people unconditionally and speak the truth to them about their eternal destination. Fill us with Your Spirit we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
