Acts 18:6 (ESV): "6 And when they opposed and reviled him, he shook out his garments and said to them, "Your blood be on your own heads! I am innocent. From now on I will go to the Gentiles."
Sometimes our frustrations with sharing the Gospel have less to do with the message and more to do with our obedience. God doesn't always call us to a people group but when He does He expects us to focus on them exactly as He instructs.
Paul's standard procedure when entering a new town was to teach in the synagogue and reason with the Jews. That was always his first step if applicable. God told him to be a witness to the Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel (Acts 9:15-16) and yet he seems to want to focus on the Jews. He finally realizes that much of his hardship has been due to the Jews so while in Corinth and makes this declaration, "From now on I will go to the Gentiles." I wonder if God sighed and thought, "it's about time?"
When you are constantly hitting a wall with certain people relating to the Gospel what do you do? Do you persevere and think, "I'm going to win these folks to Christ?" Perhaps your issue is that you aren't listening to God. Do things His way and you will have peace beyond sight. Sometimes our we keep talking when God has said to stop. Listen intently for direction from the Lord and then do what he says and all will go well with you, amen?
Father, we thank You that You have specific people that you put in our path to reach. Help us not to focus on the wrong one's Lord. You draw all men to Yourself but not necessarily through us. May we be sensitive to Your leading as we live for You in Jesus' name, amen.
