Acts 16:6-9

Acts 16:6–9 (ESV): "6 And they went through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia. 7 And when they had come up to Mysia, they attempted to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them. 8 So, passing by Mysia, they went down to Troas. 9 And a vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia was standing there, urging him and saying, "Come over to Macedonia and help us."

God is faithful to direct us to the center of His will but we must be obedient to the Spirit if we ever hope to find it. He will speak clearly then it's up to us to heed His voice.

Paul, Silas, and Timothy worked their way through Phrygia and Galatia walking in the Spirit. They were not permitted by the Spirit to preach in Asia and when they attempted to go to Bithynia were denied by the Spirit. They were directed to Troas where God would give Paul further instruction through a vision that would lead them to Macedonia. This was the middle of God's will for them. Had they not walked in obedience to the Spirit they would have missed it.

How do you respond to denial from God? Do you do what you want anyways or do you heed the Spirit? Don't expect to find the will of God if you are not willing to walk in obedience. You will only find silence and frustration. If you are in that place today seek the Lord, ask Him if you've missed something, and then be obedient to His Spirit. He is faithful to redirect us back on His path. However, be prepared to do it His way, amen?

Father, we pray even now that we walk by Your Spirit into the middle of Your will. May we be obedient to Your voice and when we find ourselves off the path quickly return to You through repentance and then do what you say we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
