Acts 10:19–20 (ESV): "19 And while Peter was pondering the vision, the Spirit said to him, "Behold, three men are looking for you. 20 Rise and go down and accompany them without hesitation, for I have sent them."
Walking in the Spirit means being in tune with His voice and obedient to do what He says. You can't walk in the Spirit without both of these aspects being present. Seek His voice and then do what He says, amen?
After Peter was used by God to raise Dorcus in Joppa God sent visitors to Him to escort Him to Cornelius' home, a Gentile God-fearer whom God sent an angel to instruct to seek out Peter and bring him to his home. This was unlawful for a Jew so God gave Peter a vision of a sheet with unclean animals on it and then said, "Rise, Peter, kill and eat." Being a good Jew Peter refused but God told him "What God has made clean, do not call common." Peter had no idea what it meant until he was standing in Cornelius' home. It was a call to take the Gospel to the Gentiles.
What stands in your way of hearing and being obedient to the Spirit? Are you too distracted to hear or too fearful to act? Walk in the Spirit Christian. You don't even have to understand it! Just listen for His voice and do what He says. It will be the best decision you've ever made over and over again! God is looking for laborers to work the harvest but one must be willing to walk in the Spirit, amen?
Father, we thank You for opening the Gospel to the Gentile world! You owe us nothing and yet have offered us everything. May we be willing to do the same as Peter and walk in the Spirit even crossing the cultural barriers if asked to we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
