2 Corinthians 9:10-11

2 Corinthians 9:10–11 (ESV): "10 He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness. 11 You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God."

Talking about giving in the church is like pouring salt on an open wound for most because the devil has used sinful men to manipulate and fleece the flock of God. However, giving is a Biblical mandate that has a huge impact on those who walk in this discipline.

First off, God does need our money. He needs our obedience and trust. Money is the tangible means He uses to demonstrate to us whether or not He has our obedience and trust. Paul explains that God is directly responsible for how much of the seed we have and He will multiply that seed as we are faithful and He will make us fruitful in every way. He enriches us to continue in generosity! Never forget this.

Are you walking in obedience and trust in this area of your life? God isn't asking you to give begrudgingly, but cheerfully. It is commanded to give something. The rule of thumb is 10% (tithe) but you don't have to stop there. You can give as much as you want. Show me a person who gives cheerfully and abundantly and I will show you a person who is enjoying great blessings from God. You can't outgive the Giver! Try Him on this and you will see. Keep a loose grip on your seed Christian lest it keep a tight grip on you. It's meant to be sown, amen?

Father, we thank You for all that You have given to us. Teach us to trust You in the area of finances. May we use all of our resources to bring You glory and honor we pray in Jesus' name, amen, and amen.
