2 Corinthians 6:14-15
2 Corinthians 6:14–15 (ESV): "14 Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? 15 What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever?"
Who you hitch your wagon to in life matters! Whether it's in business, marriage, or the like, we are to never be in bed (so to speak) with unbelievers. God is protecting you, I promise!
Believers are not to be conformed to this world. Being unequally yoked increases our likelihood of compromising for the world has a different ethos than we do. Paul reminds us, what partnership does righteousness have with lawlessness? What fellowship does light have with darkness? What unity does Jesus have with Satan? The answer to all is NONE! That's why the church in Corinth was so messed up. God is warning us here not to go down this path!
Are you unequal yoked Christian? If so, the first step is to repent. Then you must be willing to take whatever steps God leads you to take. If you are married to an unbeliever you must stay (1 Cor 7:12-16). You are in a covenant relationship and you must honor it. If you are unequally yoked in any other areas of your life be willing to unhitch yourself at all cost. It will be painful but beneficial to your soul. The Lord knows what is best for us. Don't think you are the anomaly. Walk in the counsel of the Lord, amen?
Father, we thank You for looking out for us! You desire good and not evil for us. May we listen to Your counsel and walk in Your Word. We surrender all to You now, direct our steps we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
