2 Corinthians 10:3-6

2 Corinthians 10:3–6 (ESV): "3 For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. 5 We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, 6 being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete."

The spiritual war we face does not just exist in the world but also in the church. Satan has vessels everywhere and he even uses believers who are weak in the Spirit to create disunity in the body. We must expose the root of evil and wage war in the Spirit and not the flesh!

Contrary to popular belief, Christians aren't the underdog when it comes to the spiritual battles we face. We have all the weaponry we need for victory (Eph 6:12-18). Sadly, like the church in Corinth, many Christians attempt to wage war with carnal weapons and thus experience defeat. Paul is encouraging us to wage war in the Spirit. We can pull down strongholds with divine power and destroy arguments and opinions that are raised against the knowledge of our God through the Spirit! Relying on the flesh in this battle is like bringing a knife to a gunfight!

How are you fighting the battle that rages against you? The greatest stronghold we face is the idea that we can do it on our own. We need to wage war in the Spirit and not in the flesh. Greater is He who is in us than He who is on the world. Stop letting the enemy win! Put on the full armor of God and slay the dragon with the divine power within you. Amen?

Father, we thank You that we have all that we need in You to gain victory in every battle. May we not succumb to fighting in the flesh but rely solely upon spiritual weaponry to defeat the enemy in Jesus' name, amen.
