1 Thessalonians 5:14

1 Thessalonians 5:14 (ESV): "14 And we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all."

It's amazing to have brother and sisters by our side helping us through this journey of life. The tendency for most when things get tough is to run away from the body...God has given them to you for your benefit. Don't run away, run to the body and be met with the love and patience of Christ.

Not everyone in Thessalonica was faring well. Some were idle, others were discouraged, and yet others were struggling. Paul reminds the body to minister to such a one as these. We have been given the hope of eternity with Jesus, things might be hard but they are only for a season. We must constantly remind one another that this life is temporary and before you know it's over. We ought to live with eternity in mind but sometimes we get side tracked by complacency or circumstances that overwhelm us. We can easily get entangled in sin if we do keep looking up. May we set our minds on things above (Col 3:2) and finish well.

If you are idle today get to work time is short. If you are discouraged and faint at heart, hey listen, this too shall pass, cling to Jesus, He is enough. If you are weak, understand you are in a perfect place to be strong, for His power is made perfect in weakness, get your eyes on Jesus so He can strength you. May the Holy Spirit minister to each of us and then use us as ministers to one another. Be patient with one other for we are all in process.

Father, we thank You for Your Word. It touches and teaches us in every up and down in life. May we look to Your Word to find what we need today. May You use it to refresh and strength is that we can then be of benefit to the body. Keep us patient and gracious with each other as we work out our salvation we pray in Jesus name, amen!
