1 Corinthians 15:3-4

1 Corinthians 15:3–4 (ESV): "3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures…"

The Gospel is truly good news, isn't it? Jesus died for our sins, was buried proving He had died and rose again making a declaration that His sacrifice was sufficient. Why wouldn't you want to share that with as many people as possible?

The Gospel message is of FIRST importance. Without the Gospel message, we are up the creek without a paddle folks. Without the death of Jesus on the cross, our sins couldn't be removed. "For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins (Heb 10:4)." If Jesus were not buried there would be no proof of His death or resurrection. He was dead and buried so that He could rise again. The resurrection of Jesus is the nail in the coffin for death. Without the resurrection, we are still dead in our sins! The Gospel is the only message that can offer hope beyond the grave! Jesus triumphed over death for all who would believe and receive Him.

If you had the remedy for cancer or world hunger would you tell others about it or just keep it to yourself? We have the remedy for sin and death in the Gospel! How much more important is it that we share this message with everyone? Eternity is at stake. Don't sit on the words of life, share them. The Gospel is of FIRST importance, keep it that way. Amen?

Father, we can't thank You enough for saving our souls through the eternal Gospel of peace. May we never cease to share what You have done in sending Your Son for all of mankind we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
