1 Corinthians 15:23-26

1 Corinthians 15:23–26 (ESV): "24 Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power. 25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death."

There is coming a time when all dominions, rulers and authorities will be destroy by the Son of God. He has already dethroned them and is now allowing them to operate in this world for a specific period of time. When the day comes not a single one of them will flee or escape His mighty wrath and vengeance.

Paul reminds the Corinthians of the order of events regarding the last days in chapter 15. First, the resurrection of Christ, then the resurrection of His followers, the rule of Christ in the millennial kingdom and finally the destruction of everything that is evil. The first part has happened, the resurrection of Christ. Jesus rose from the dead some two thousand years ago defeating death and the devil. Jesus owns them now and at the right time, when the fullness of the Gentiles comes in (Ro 11:25), will rapture His Church (1 Thess 4:17) and the Tribulation will be ushered in for a period of seven years (Dan 9:24-27). During this time God will deal with the hardness of Israel.

After this, Jesus will come visibly and bodily form to rule as it were until He has put every enemy under His footstool. This will occur for 1000 years and then final destruction (Rev 20:11-15). A new heavens and a new earth will be created and we will love for all of eternity in the perfection and light (Rev 22:1-4). How should this affect me today? It should cause you and I to pursue Him daily for no one knows the day or the hour. We know time is short so it's not a matter of hours but minutes. May you and I live in expectancy of His glorious appearing with an urgency to tell others. That is our call. It's gonna happen and I for one can't wait! Be ready, walk carefully for the days are evil Christian. Give Him your all!

Father, we thank You for the clear understanding of the things to come. Fill us with Your Spirit and put an urgency in us to live out our faith full throttle until You return. Help us not to lose sight of this as we walk in this world but fill us with light that we might give it those in darkness. For Your glory we pray in Jesus name, amen!
