1 Corinthians 13:4-8

1 Corinthians 13:4–8 (ESV): "4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never ends."

Love is the chief attribute of God for God IS love. Thus love must be the main goal of every believer. May we seek to love as God loves.

Paul reminds those in Corinth of what true love looks like. It is patient and kind, it does not envy or boast, it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way, it is not irritable or resentful, nor does it rejoice in wrongdoing but in the truth. This is love. The only way human beings can love this way is through the Spirit of God! The fruit of the Spirit is love. He must be allowed to love through us.

Who runs the show in your heart? If it's you forget ever becoming like this. Our only hope to love as we are loved is to let the Spirit run the show! When we surrender to Him this is the kind of fruit we will see. Measure yourself against this list by replacing the word love with your name. Is this true of you? If not, don't try and change your behavior, surrender to the Spirit. He will manifest the fruit of love, Amen?

Father, we praise You for loving us as You do. May You manifest your Agape love in us and may it flow through us. We surrender to You now Holy Spirit. Forgive us for grieving and quenching You. Have Your way in us we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
