1 Corinthians 13:4-7

1 Corinthians 13:4–7 (ESV): "4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."

The anthem of the Bible is love. Every single page sings of Gods amazing love for us. It's the essence of who God is. Anyone who wants to be like Him must be loving.

The Corinthian church was full of all kinds of fleshly activity including how they expressed their spiritual gifts. They elevated one gift over another and categorized people based on them. Paul addresses this by reminding them that whatever they do, whether it be to speak in tongues or prophecy that if it is not done in love it is a loud annoying noise that people would rather not hear.
But if done in love it can be a sweet melody to the heart. He goes on to define the characteristics of love. Love is...

What is your mode of operation Christian? Do you do things out of love or obligation? Are you patient and kind and selfless? It's been said you can insert Jesus's name in this description of love and it define who He is...Jesus is...but what about you. How accurate would it describe you if you put your name in the place of love? It's the fruit of the Spirit! Walk in love always. Pray and ask God to help you grow in your ability to be all of these things for in so doing you will look just like Jesus.

Father we thank You for Your incredible love for us. We can see it manifest itself daily in our lives. May we not just be recipients of it but may we also be distributors as well. As we are loved may we also love. Fill us with Your Spirit and help us to allow Him to love through us we pray in Jesus name, amen!
