1 Corinthians 12:4-7

1 Corinthians 12:4–7 (ESV): "4 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; 5 and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; 6 and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. 7 To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good."

God has given us spiritual gifts to use to edify and encourage each other. The Holy Spirit is the giver and He decides what spiritual giftings we receive by what the body of Christ needs. Our only role in this is to exercise the giftings we've been given.

The most important aspect of successful Christian living is walking in the power and gifting of the Holy Spirit. He equips and blesses us with spiritual giftings for the common good. That means our spiritual gifts are not just for us but others. If we don't ever use our gifting we will never be the blessing God intends us to be to one another.

Are you exercising the spiritual gifting you've been given for the common good? Do not sit on your gifts, Christian! The body of Christ needs them to be encouraged and equipped. If you have the gift of wisdom, knowledge, or faith use them. If you have the gifts of healing or miracles exercise them. Don't be bashful in walking in your gifting. You are meant to bless others with your gifting so walk in the Spirit and exercise your gifts! If you are unaware of what your spiritual gifting is pray and ask God to help you recognize them. He desires to reveal them to you! The Spirit is willing, are you?

Father, we thank You for giving us all we need for life and godliness. Thank You for sealing us with the Spirit and for allowing the manifestation of spiritual gifts. May we never shy away from exercising our gifts but rather recognize the need for them we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
