1 Chronicles 22:18–19 (ESV): "18 "Is not the Lord your God with you? And has he not given you peace on every side? For he has delivered the inhabitants of the land into my hand, and the land is subdued before the Lord and his people. 19 Now set your mind and heart to seek the Lord your God. Arise and build the sanctuary of the Lord God, so that the ark of the covenant of the Lord and the holy vessels of God may be brought into a house built for the name of the Lord."
Seeking God and following His calling upon our lives is our reasonable service. He has done so much to put us in a position where we can serve Him. May we be all in!
After David charged Solomon to build the Temple, he commanded the leaders of Israel to help his son. He reminded them that God had provided prosperity and peace for such a time is this. He exhorts them to set their minds and hearts upon seeking the Lord as well as to step up and bring the building of the Temple to completion. After all, God has done it's the least they can do.
God is always positioning us for His purposes. If we are prospering it's because there is something we are to invest in. If we are experiencing peace from the battles of life because God is wanting us to focus our energies on something related to His service. Don't let the good experiences He allows in your life lull you to sleep. Serve the Lord always but particularly when things are good. If you are not currently serving God, get in the game. It is what you were created to do. Be all in! Set your heart and soul upon Him and arise and complete the good works He has created for you to walk in from the foundation of the world.
Father how wonderful and faithful You are to us. You have blessed us tremendously with salvation and reconciliation. You have eternally prospered us beyond our comprehension. You have given us peace with You, with others and within. May we, in turn, give our whole selves to serving You all the days of our lives. We seek You, Lord, our minds and hearts belong to You. Embolden us to complete all that You have before us we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
