1 Chronicles 15:29

1 Chronicles 15:29 (ESV): "29 And as the ark of the covenant of the Lord came to the city of David, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out of the window and saw King David dancing and celebrating, and she despised him in her heart."

Our worship of God should be visible before man. Jesus said if we acknowledge Him before man He will acknowledge us before His Father.  Worship wholeheartedly and let the world know you belong to Jesus!

When David felt it was time to bring the Ark of the Covenant back to Jerusalem after being taken by the Philistines, he brought it back in epic fashion. This was one of the greatest days in the history of Israel thus far for the place where sin was dealt with, the Mercy Seat would now be back in the Tabernacle where atonement could be made. This caused David great joy and he expressed himself outwardly before man by dancing before the Lord.It brought great displeasure to his wife as she saw him worshipping God with such passion.

Not everyone will approve of your worship of God.  Many will say such things should never be done publicly but our worship of God must be public for how else will the world know we belong to Jesus. You might not physically dance but you ought to be worshipping God in such a way that there is no confusion about who you belong to. We must never be ashamed of who we are. Worship wholeheartedly everywhere. Lift your hands to the King of all creation and give glory to our great God but don't expect everyone to approve. Be the example and don't worry about the rest.

Father, we thank You for being so outward with Your love for us. You have made it visible by sending Your Son. May we also make our love for You manifest outwardly in worship and adoration before man that they might see the greatness of who You are. Remove the fear that stops us from worshipping outwardly and fill us with passion like David had to dance wholeheartedly before You everywhere we go we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
