Judges 15:14

Judges 15:14 (ESV): "14 When he came to Lehi, the Philistines came shouting to meet him. Then the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon him, and the ropes that were on his arms became as flax that has caught fire, and his bonds melted off his hands."

The only hope for God's people to walk in might and power against the enemy and our flesh is through the empowerment of the Spirit of God. We have no strength outside of Him!

Samson was born during a period of time when Israel was under the dominion of the Philistines. He was by far a perfect man.He was rebellious at heart but one thing was for sure God was with him.As he grew, the Spirit of the Lord would come upon him giving him supernatural strength to accomplish impossible tasks. His power was not within but came upon Him by way of the Spirit of God.

There are three relationships Christians have with the Holy Spirit.First, the Spirit of God is WITH everyone, convicting us of sin (Jn 16:8-10). All human beings have this relationship with the Holy Spirit.Secondly, when we become believers the Spirit of God comes IN us (Jn 14:17; Rom 8:11; Eph 1:13-14). Thirdly, the Spirit of God comes UPON believers for special empowerment to accomplish God's will (Acts 1:8).The Spirit of God is the tangible power in our lives to resist sin and accomplish good works God created for us to walk in (Eph 2:10).We must surrender to His empowerment in order to see it in our lives.Pray a simple prayer of surrender to the Holy Spirit today and watch the power of God come alive in you like never before!

Father, we thank You for power from on high to live the life You have called us to.Today we surrender our lives to You desiring to walk solely in the empowerment of Your Spirit.Spirit of God has full reign in our lives even now we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
