Jeremiah 27:15-16 "14 Do not listen to the words of the prophets who are saying to you, 'You shall not serve the king of Babylon,' for it is a lie that they are prophesying to you. 15 I have not sent them, declares the Lord, but they are prophesying falsely in my name, with the result that I will drive you out and you will perish, you and the prophets who are prophesying to you."

Bearing a title doesn't guarantee authenticity. In ancient Israel prophets were the people who spoke on behalf of God.Their words were trusted and believed. The problem is their words were not always from God.They prophesied falsely which was a capital punishment. Just because someone bears the title doesn't make their words trustworthy. In our day and age there are many that are self appointed Pastors and Teachers who speak words of flattery and falsehood.Who water down the Gospel of Jesus Christ and cheapen the grace of God. Regardless of the title, fact check with the Word of God.Don't be deceived Christian. Be Bereans and make sure what your being taught is in the Bible.Know His Word!

Father we thank You for Your Word for it is truth. We pray for all Pastors and Teachers everywhere that they rightly divide Your Word and that every listener receive through verification.May Your Spirit lead us into all truth we pray in Jesus name, amen!
