Deuteronomy 2:7 (ESV): "7 For the Lord your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He knows your going through this great wilderness. These forty years the Lord your God has been with you. You have lacked nothing."
God is Jehovah-Jireh, our provider. We lack no good thing because our God provides.
While wandering in the wilderness for forty years the children of Israel lacked nothing. God had provided all that they needed to survive. What they began to complain about was what God provided. They were not satisfied with the types of provisions God provided. The food wasn't rich enough, the water wasn't abundant enough and yet they failed to recognize that the sandals and clothes they were dressed with never wore out (Deut 29:5), they had plenty to eat and when water was in short supply God would cause it to come from a Rock! Not only this but they were protected by God as He led them day and night. He did provide more than they deserved.
That is the case with you and me, so often we complain about the types of provisions we are given rather than being thankful that He has provided. I also think it's important to note that when we lack it can be because the body of Christ isn't caring for one another as we should. It's been said if the church were to be who we are called to be there would be no world hunger problem. God has provided the problem is people are hoarding the supply. Don't complain today about what you have. Give God thanks for all that He has provided and be generous with those provisions.. Take a moment today and look back on all the provisions He has supplied and give Him honor and glory for all that He has done.
Father thank You for all that You have done in our lives. You are so faithful to us. You have provided what we need to not only survive but to thrive. Let us not grow discontent with what we have been given. Let us use it all for Your glory we pray in Jesus name, amen.
